The sheltered bay of Zihuatenejo offers one of the most tranquil tropical settings in the Mexican Riviera. The atmosphere in the quaint seaside village is that of old Mexico, with cobblestone streets and open air restaurants and cantinas. The waters outside the bay offer year-round fishing for all of the blue water species. During the winter months, huge schools of sailfish congregate just offshore to challenge the light tackle and fly fishing angler. Winter blue marlin cruise the blue waters offshore along with big dorado and tuna and the rocky shoreline has been known to produce some of the largest roosterfish in the Pacific. We work with a cruiser fleet that excells in light tackle and fly fishing. Anglers and their families will enjoy the comfortable beachside accommodations at the Villas Mexicana on La Ropa Beach. Zihuatanejo definitely gets a the highest rating from Fishabout.
