The Pacific Coast of Guatemala forms a giant bay. Strong currents flowing west to east from the Mexican Coast create and enormous naturally occurring eddy, rich in bait and pelagic game fish. Sailfish, marlin and many other sport fishing species are found here in great numbers. Sailfish Bay has two fully equipped Blackfin sportfishers, with captains and crews that excell in light tackle and flyfishing using teasing and bait and switch techniques. The number of billfish bites per day can be staggering. Visiting anglers enjoy an intimate setting in a comfortable villa with a brand new beach house recently built by the lodge. Guests enjoy the lodge pool after fishing each day with drinks and appetizers. The cuisine is a delicious mix of Guatemalan specialties and local lobster, shrimp and seafood. Meals are served in the open air dining room and indoor accommodations are fully air conditioned. Guatemala has recently been titled “The Billfish Capitol of the World” and Sailfish Bay Lodge offers first class fishing and accommodation.
