SIGHTCAST - LOS ROQUES Just 80 miles off the coast of Venezuela is a virtually untouched saltwater wilderness. The archipelago named Los Roques is carefully protected by the Venezuelan government and the fishing pressure is tightly regulated. With 40 islands and 300 deserted keys, a lot of good water barely ever gets fished! Tales of bonefish, tarpon, permit, snook and barracuda are what bring people here for the first time, but what brings them back is the large average size of the bonefish. Almost all of the fishing is wading with an experienced English speaking guide, stalking tailing fish. Almost all of the fishing is done by wading and sightcasting to tailing and cruising fish. Anglers stay in comfortable rooms at Vistalmar Lodge with air-conditioning. Vistalmar islocated on the waterfront and offers nice rooms and good food.
